Ethan's First Eid Prayer

August 30, 2011... The rose-pink light of dawn appeared and we were all awake and busy preparing for the Eid Prayer. Everybody was excited for the holiday. Ethan was agitated and kept on looking for his dress to wear. Luckily, I already prepared it on the eve of the event. The toub (a long white long-sleeved dress just above the ankle usually worn by Arab men and young kids) was given to me by my sister-in-law. I was surprised as if it was fitted for him. There was only one missing, his kufiya (a traditional headdress worn by male muslims). I wasn't able to find one for him.

Eid Mubarak!

Ramadan has ended so soon. It's just like it happened in a day. Today every muslim is preparing for the BIG day. My family is planning to do thanksgiving after the Eid Prayer. We will be preparing bihon, chicken adobo and some salads or sweets. Eid is the most celebrated day for muslims. For me, it can be compared to a New Year's Eve. A takbir was done after moon-sighting, a sign that Ramadan has finished.

Eid Mubarak to one and all. Pray for peace, love and prosperity.

New Page: Guestbook

Right click & hit "Open link to new tab" to view larger image.
Hi. I just added a new page: My Guestbook, where you can leave your message everytime you visit my page. I have added it coz I received comments thru FB that my visitors can not leave their comments, my page is prompting them to sign in with their gmail account to comment and others don't have it. So I googled a guestbook to embed in my page and I found Embedded Guestbook where I can customize my own guestbook. Thanks to them.

Now you can leave your messages whenever you visit  My Everyday Life. Just hit My Guestbook and you will be redirected to the page. You are always welcome to say anything but please no spam comments (winks). Happy reading!

Ethan's Trip to Grotto

It was a sunny afternoon and we decided to go to Grotto. Ethan was so excited. His eyes wide-opened when we entered the mini zoo. He ran all the way to see all the caged animals and kept on asking: "Ano yan, Tita Baleng?" pointing to each creature. He was then answered back by his Tita Baleng patiently. I never saw him scared looking at them. He even said "Hi!" to a crocodile (laughs). He played along with his cousins after sated looking at all the animals. He really enjoyed the trip.

The Grotto is a quiet sedate nature. There are spots which are good place for meditation. When I was there, I somehow felt relieved with all the stress I had for the last few weeks, tired or working. I was at ease and comforted by the solemness of the place.

We went home before sundown. Leaving the place with a promise to come back to relish once again the tranquility of the Grotto.

Brunch @ Greenwich With Bes

I had brunch with Bes at Greenwich. We had these Philly Cheese Steak Pizza, Lasagna with Garlic Bread & Coke. The place was not congested. We really had "good talk" and laughed with each other. We talked about great stuff, plans in life and jokes (laughs). The food tasted great though we didn't finish it all. About the food, well, it was cheap and worth the deal. 50% OFF the total price. Great huh? I'm planning to have brunch in here again, maybe I'll take another deal: 2 Double Sized Pizzas (half-priced). With whom? Yes, with Bes again. This is our stuff: eating, obviously, great foods.
